Lake City firefighters evacuated the Bronk's Thursday evening after fire broke out in the adjacent Radio Shack.

Flood preparations escalate in Red Wing

On Wednesday morning, the river was at 8.12 feet with readings expected to rise to 16 feet by March 30. The National Weather Service will be coming out with updated stats during the afternoon of Thursday.

The Red Wing area could officially have a flood as of Saturday. The Mississippi River is expected to reach flood stage -- 14 feet -- by Saturday afternoon.

Red Wing native Andrew Peterson loves sailing. His love for the water has taken him, literally, from the white-capped splashes of Lake Pepin to the massive liquid-terrains of the Caribbean. Red Wing High School 2002 classmate Chris Warrington, a photographer, flew to Puerto Rico to join them for February. Peterson and co-captain Lance Lindsay have documented their epic 4,000-mile journey on the open water.
